Era Fashion Roadshow - What’s in YOUR Closet?

Assembling an Ensemble for Judging or Fashion Fun

It can be a challenge knowing where to begin in assembling an ensemble if you are new to the subject of Model A Ford Era fashion. But you might already have garments and/or access-sories which could be used for judging your completed outfit as an original, reproduction or blended category. And some items which don’t fall into those judging categories can be just for the “fun of it”, without regard to judging standards. That is known as “Fun Fashion”.

The Era fashion judging standards book is the first and best place to begin.

This book is available at:

https://model-a-ford.org/product/fashion-standards-complete-set/

In the meantime, the MARC Fashion Committee is offering this seminar as an informal way to give an opinion on items brought to our “Roadshow” event. As in the PBS television series “Antiques Roadshow”, fashion garments, hats, accessories, etc. will be examined and considered as:

  1. Original to the Model A Ford Era of 1928 – 1931

  2. Reproduction of a Model A Ford Era in style, fabric, construction, etc.

  3. “Fun Fashion” – not of the Model A Ford Era for judging purposes,

but of a stylized or stereotypical look.

The purpose of this seminar/booklet is to help you learn the difference between these categories so you can assemble an ensemble for judging or fashion fun.

So bring your items to Asheville, North Carolina!
